Sports Day –Thursday 13th July 2017

Sports Day July 17 5

Victorious! Winning House: Jones

As the students were waking up on Thursday morning, the sports day team had already spent two hours erecting gazebos, roping off throwing areas, and setting up a PA system. The sun was only just shining on the fields of Northampton and the rain clouds that were predicted for a while were not yet in sight.

This year’s Sports Day was a triumph. Students ran, threw, cheered and tugged their way through the day with great competitive spirit. Staff undertook their roles with enthusiasm, especially in the ‘Blue Ribband’ staff relay event in the afternoon.  Congratulations to the Brunel staff team.  I genuinely feel the fastest performance of the day was Mr. Mills’ dash to the front of the queue for ice creams.

Congratulations go to all who took part in whatever shape or House. Especially to the winning House, Jones.  Only 9 points separated the top two Houses, and 16 points for the top three.

Plans are already being made for next year’s bigger and better event!
