Introduction from the Principal
I am delighted to have joined the Abbeyfield School community as Principal. The school celebrated some fantastic results in 2018 showing improvement across the curriculum at GCSE and A level, a testament to the hard work and commitment of the staff and students. We are very proud of all the students at Abbeyfield and have high expectations and aspirations for them. I am very privileged to be working with an impressive staff team, they go the extra mile to ensure that every student has the opportunity, support and challenge to be able to achieve their personal best.
The facilities at the school are outstanding. Students recognise this and are proud to be part of Abbeyfield. They work hard and our values of ‘respect’ and ‘care’ are evident in the daily life of the school. We provide high quality pastoral care for our students and to providing them with a range of exciting and creative opportunities to ensure that their school experience is rich and varied.
Positive and constructive relationships between families and the school are essential and we value this partnership. Abbeyfield is an outward looking school and we are constantly developing ways to engage with the local community and develop links with local businesses for the benefit of our students.
Abbeyfield School is part of the Creative Education Trust (CET). Creativity, problem-solving and innovation are central to the approach to learning. We are constantly challenged and supported by CET to raise the outcomes of our students and to prepare them for successful adulthood both personally and in the world of work.
We welcome feedback from all members of the school community. If you would like to share any positive feedback or have some ideas to contribute to our improvement agenda, please contact us.
I am very excited about joining the Abbeyfield team and look forward to a very positive year working with staff, parents and students.
